Cumulus-Owned KGO Radio's hosts Land With Rival

Cumulus Media just got a slap in the back. Talk show hosts that were originally part of the news/talk station, KGO AM, in San Francisco were fired several weeks ago when Cumulus Media, the new station owners, decided to switch to an all-news format in the afternoons. Soon afterwards, rival station owner Clear Channel Communications picked up the former KGO hosts and added them to their re-worked News/Talk 910 AM in San Francisco and the what will become the new 960 KNEW (Michael Savage was dropped from KNEW this past year) after the new year. America's Got Talent to Lose Family-Friendly Aspect

Radio Shock Jock Howard Stern has signed a deal with NBC to become a judge on America's Got Talent, replacing the departing Piers Morgan. Howard Stern is known for his radical behavior on the radio. He was once a DJ with CBS Radio on the former K-Rock (now 92.3 NOW) until he was let go from CBS Radio and his syndication company in 2005, where he joined Sirius XM Satellite Radio. He continues to be inappropriate on satellite radio. At least, he feels, he won't get fined. He has met a ton of protest over the years and, especially, a week ago, when he was in talks with NBC to judge America's Got Talent, a family-friendly singing competition show. All I can say is, "NBC, move the competition to a pornographic site. The show would be better suited there. That way, you won't get fined for some of the inappropriate comments Stern is bound to make." Click Here for More on the Story from Radio Ink Magazine.

Breaking News: Consumer Guru Clark Howard Cutting Show by One Hour

News/Talk 750 WSB, the flagship station for Clark Howard, consumer advocate and talk show host, is cutting Howard's award-winning show by an hour. Instead of his normal time from 1pm-4pm, they will be cutting the last hour from his show.

“I think it’s better for listeners and it’s certainly better for me,” Howard said in a phone interview. “It’s an election-year cycle and talk radio is now so political. I’m just ready to not work quite as much.”

Syndicated talk show host Sean Hannity will be on from 3pm-6pm on the Cox-owned Atlanta station instead of being delayed an hour as in the past. Erick Ericsson, another syndicated talk show host will be on the Atlanta powerhouse an hour earlier, 6pm-9pm instead of 7pm-9pm.
